Medical Director

Dr. Cristina Santana is a licensed Medical Doctor from UNAM School of Medicine in Mexico City; over 15 years in practice, she has also earned degrees and diplomas in Business Administration, Neuroscience, Neuroanatomy, as well as Aesthetic Medicine, and Regenerative Medicine. She’s been contributing as a Medical Director for the Giostar program for the last three years in order to offer cutting edge therapies for patients seeking safe and efficient options for their medical conditions.

Evelyn Garcia Mendez

Medical Director at GIOSTAR Cancún

Born in Colombia, Evelyn is a medical doctor who studied in Cartagena de Indias and holds a master's degree in Aesthetic, Regenerative, and Anti-Aging Medicine from the Complutense University of Madrid. She joined GIOSTAR in 2024, bringing her expertise in advanced regenerative therapies. Passionate about innovation in personalized medicine, she has dedicated her career to integrating cutting edge stem cell treatments and anti-aging protocols.

Her practice goes beyond Anti-aging, she specializes in the treatment of autoimmune diseases, osteoarthritis, metabolic disorders, fibrosis, COPD, among other conditions, utilizing regenerative medicine to enhance patients’ quality of life. Currently, she is furthering her specialization by pursuing a diploma in Regenerative Medicine at Anáhuac University. Evelyn has participated in international congresses and training programs focused on regenerative medicine, continuously expanding her knowledge to provide state of the art medical solutions.

Diana Esquivel

Diana Gabriela Esquivel Ramírez

Scientific director at GIOSTAR MEXICO

Born in Tijuana, Baja California, Diana holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology and two Master's degrees in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, as well as Quality Systems Engineering. Since joining GIOSTAR Mexico in 2017, she has actively contributed to the publication of various scientific articles, attended both national and international conferences, and participated in courses from renowned institutions such as Harvard Medical School and MIT.

In collaboration with the National College and Council of Regenerative Medicine in Mexico, Diana has delivered numerous lectures to promote and expand knowledge of stem cell therapy worldwide. She has also served as a judge for the first RECELL Awards in regenerative medicine and has led national scientific teams.

Currently, she serves as the Scientific Director of GIOSTAR Mexico, leading her team in advancements in mesenchymal stem cell therapy. Additionally, she oversees research in immunotherapy for cancer treatment, working with various cell lines to develop improved therapeutic approaches. Her work focuses on optimizing immune response modulation and enhancing tumor-targeting mechanisms, aiming to contribute to more effective and accessible treatment options. Through ongoing research and collaboration with experts in the field, Diana remains committed to advancing regenerative medicine and expanding therapeutic possibilities for patients worldwide.

Sofia Lopez

Sofía Araceli López Reyes

Laboratory chief at GIOSTAR Mexico, Playa del Carmen

Sofía López holds the position of Laboratory Chief at Giostar, Mexico, where she is responsible for supervising, preparing, and analyzing the quality of all cell therapies. She also participates in the implementation of new projects alongside the entire scientific team.

In her professional development, she has ventured into research areas focused on identifying genes and polymorphisms associated with cancer predisposition and studying the pharmacological activity of plant-derived metabolites in various cell lines. Additionally, she has experience in implementing quality management processes, teaching cell biology, chemistry, and ecology, as well as processing clinical samples using various diagnostic techniques.Regarding her academic background, she obtained a degree in Pharmaceutical and Biological Chemistry from the Autonomous University of Yucatán. She also holds diplomas in hematopathology, microbiology, quality management, health regulation, and good manufacturing practices for biotechnological products.

Jesús Iván Morales Miranda

Born and raised in Sonoyta, Sonora, Iván developed a strong passion for science, leading him to pursue a degree in Clinical Biological Chemistry at the University of Sonora. Over the years, he has gained extensive experience working in various clinical laboratories, refining his expertise in diagnostic and analytical techniques.

In 2022, he joined GIOSTAR Mexico as part of the Stem Cell Laboratory team, contributing to the implementation of innovative projects in the field of regenerative medicine. His dedication and enthusiasm drive him to explore cutting-edge immunotherapy advancements, aiming to provide innovative therapeutic solutions to patients worldwide.

Nutritionist at GIOSTAR MEXICO

Born in Mexicali, Baja California. Bachelor's degree and License in nutritionist. In 2020, I started working Provided nutritional counseling to plant staff, focusing on specific conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, overweight, and obesity, while promoting healthy and appropriate eating habits. I Joined GIOSTAR Mexico in 2025, I am responsible for advising each patient to achieve better results with cellular therapy. Additionally, I provide post-therapy follow-up. Continuous training the dietary management of chronic degenerative diseases.

Specialized Physiotherapist in Neurorehabilitation and Oncological Physiotherapy.

I was born and raised in Mexicali, Baja California, a place that has shaped my values of hard work, resilience, and community service. From a young age, I developed a strong passion for helping others, which led me to pursue a career in physiotherapy.

I am a physiotherapist specialized in neurorehabilitation, with additional certifications in Oncological Physiotherapy. My professional journey has been dedicated to advancing my expertise in physical therapy, particularly in treating complex neurological conditions and supporting cancer patients. My training has equipped me with a deep understanding of rehabilitation techniques, patient care, and evidence-based practices to improve functional outcomes and quality of life.

Currently, my expertise lies in neurorehabilitation, where I focus on helping patients recover from stroke, traumatic brain injuries, and spinal cord injuries. Additionally, my certification in Oncological Physiotherapy allows me to provide specialized care to cancer patients, addressing their unique physical challenges. I am passionate about integrating innovative therapies and personalized care plans to achieve the best possible outcomes for my patients.

In 2023, I joined GIOSTAR, where I continue to grow professionally while staying true to my roots and commitment to serving my community with dedication and compassion.

Born and raised in northern Mexico, Ruby holds a Master’s in Nutrition & Metabolism with a Clinical Nutrition specialization. With extensive experience managing chronic degenerative conditions, Ruby has collaborated across hospital settings, medical research, and clinical practice. Since joining GIOSTAR Mexico, she has been responsible for the nutritional management in stem-cell therapy patients, ensuring evidence-based dietary strategies with an integrative approach to support therapy outcomes and improve patient well-being.

Yannis Meneses

My name is Yannis Meneses Lopez. I was born on March 5, 1998, in the city of Cancún, Quintana Roo. At the age of five, my parents moved to Playa del Carmen, where I grew up and studied until high school. At 18, I decided to move to Mérida to pursue a degree in Pharmaceutical and Biological Chemistry at the Autonomous University of Yucatán. I completed my studies in 2021 and, after five years, returned to Playa del Carmen, where I began working as a chemist in the clinical field.

I first held the position of Analytical Chemist at Centro Químico Laboratory, and a year later, I transitioned to Salud Digna Laboratory as a Responsible Chemist, a role I held for three years. Currently, I work as a Laboratory Technician at Playa Clinical Lab, specializing in cell therapy preparation and the innovation of new products derived from cell culture.
